Obituary:

 

Hamptonville - Perry Columbus Money, 68 went to his heavenly home on Sunday July 23, 2017 following a brief illness.


Perry was born in Surry County on 18, December 1948 to the late Earnest Dillon Money and Reba Duncan Splawn. He was also preceded in death by a brother John “Butch” Money.


Graduated from Starmount High School class of 1968, and attended Guilford College.

Before completing college Perry joined the U.S. Marine Corps on April 10, 1969 serving as a Mine & Booby Trap Detection Dog Handler 1st platoon in the Vietnam Conflict.  After an Honorable Discharge from the Marines, Perry joined the U.S. Army Reserve serving as a Drill SGT and retiring as 1st SGT in the 108th Division.


Perry retired from Champion Industries as a Research and Design Supervisor.

He was an active supporter and advocate of youth sports and activities in Yadkin County and surrounding areas.  Was a Charter Member of VFW Post 10346.  Most notably served as President of the Vietnam Dog Handler Association.

Perry C Money is survived by his wife Josephine “Josie” Money, three children Sabrina Ashley, Perry Elijah Money, and Melissa Jane Money, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, sister Olivia “Libby” (Robert) Price, brother Phillip (Joan) Money and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friday, July 28th - 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Melissa Money, Perry's daughter, and her family, will have visitor's at her home.

Viewing will be at Gentry Family Funeral Service, 5108 US Hwy 601 N, Yadkinville, NC 27055 Friday July 28, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm.

His funeral Service will be held Saturday July 29, 2017 at 2pm at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville.  Burial will follow at the “Mountain”, Perry’s Cabin, with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the U.S. Marines.

Flowers will be accepted, and donations may be made to the Vietnam Dog Handler Association in honor of Perry C Money at  /content23783.html
