Obituary: BRUCE R. PLETSCH

 

Age 69, longtime resident of Frankfort, passed away Friday, July 5th, 2019 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.

 

Bruce is survived by his loving family, children, Jackie Pletsch, Lee (Tim) Allport, grandchildren, Jacob Pletsch, Jason Allport, Spencer Allport and former wife Roberta Pletsch (Wilcoxson).

 

Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Corzine (Halloran), wife, Carol Pletsch (Blasgen), siblings, Dennis Corzine, Jimmy Corzine, George Corzine and Sonny Pletsch.

 

Bruce was a United States Army Veteran Dog Handler who served with the 58th IPSD and ended up being disabled as a result of serving his country in the Canine Unit in Vietnam. He retired from Hines VA Hospital after 30 years of service; 20 of those years as a Union Steward. Bruce was also a member of the VFW Post #1493 in Frankfort.

 

Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 10th, 2019 from 3:00 PM until time of funeral service at 7:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Interment with full Military Honors, Thursday, July 11th, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, Elwood IL 60421. Please arrive to the cemetery by 10:15 AM.
