Obituary for Albert Bogatitus Jr.
September 7, 1949 – March 19, 2020

Albert Bogatitus Jr., Vietnam Army Veteran, died on March 19th, 2020.

He proudly served with the 33rd Infantry Platoon Scout Dogs in Pleiku, Vietnam and handled King-66M4 from 07/31/1969 through 07/21/1970.

He was the Loving Husband of Donna, nee Mazurkiewicz, Beloved Son of the late Albert and late Margaret nee Orr Bogatitus, Dear Brother of Jane (John) Olson, James Bogatitus, Mary Bogatitus, and the late Robert Bogatitus, Fond Uncle of Katherine (Jason) Centtanni, Kevin Bogatitus, Kyle Bogatitus and Great Uncle of 5.

Albert died of Metastatic Cancer of the Esophagus.

Albert will be missed by his many Cousins and Friends.  He joined the Vietnam Dog Handler Association on 04/12/1996 and became a Lifetime Member on 07/29/1999.  His VDHA membership spans 24 years of which 21 years were as a Lifetime member.

Before each VDHA Reunion, Al would be 'all fired up' and wouldn't talk about anything else.  When he got back home, all he would talk about for the next 3 months was who he met and where they were stationed in Vietnam.  The fondest memory of his trip was that he would get to see his old buddy, Gerry Rice, who lives in California.

Al also was a Member of the V.F.W. Post in Tinley Park, Illinois.

In consideration of the current situation with COVID-19, funeral services will be private.  Albert will be cremated and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be scheduled at a later date.
