Director: Gary Mather Sr. Website: http://www.38thipsd.com/ The 38th Infantry Platoon Scout Dog was first organized as the 38th Quartermaster War Dog Platoon in 1944 and saw service in Northern Italy during WW II. Reactivated in 1953 the 38th saw service during the Korean War until inactivated in 1954. It was reactivated on 28 March 1966 at Fort Benning and joined the 25th Division in July 1966.
On July 16th, 1966 the 38th IPSD arrived in Vietnam as part of the Divisions 2nd Brigade. The Platoon was headquartered at the Division Base Camp in Cu Chi and its Area of Operations was primarially in northern III Corps Total: 48
