Charlie Wayne Rogers, 76

C. W. (Chuck) Rogers, 76, of White Settlement, passed away December 29th, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Skyvue Funeral Home. The service will be held at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield on January 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm. A private family burial will follow at Skyvue Memorial Gardens.
Chuck was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Olen L. and Mary Harvey Rogers, Jr. on December 17, 1940. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1959. He enlisted in the United States Air Force July 1963. Chuck was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served from 1966-1967, as a dog handler, in the 377th Air Police Squadron. He worked for the City of Fort Worth 2 years and finished his career with 23 years at the City of Benbrook. His success in public service can be directly attributed to his strong work ethic and attention to detail. Chuck had a gift for wood working, but retired to follow his dream of returning to South Texas to pursue his other passion, fishing.
Other favorite pastimes he enjoyed were football, baseball and continuing to educate himself in the study of all sorts of history.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, O.L. and Mary; step-father Alford (Dick) M. White; brother Jack H. Rogers and a son Ronnie W. Rogers.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Patricia (Patty) Rogers; sister Annette Ardion; brothers Jerry Harris and Ted Hobday; four daughters Christi Cryer, Stacie Grimm, Debrah (Debbie) Jones and April Harrison; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and another great-grandchild due May 2017.
