Just wanted to inform you that one of the first twenty handlers from Ubon passed away.  His name was Gordon Ray Montgomery from Beaver, Ohio.  He handled Tartoe X705.  His tour dates at Ubon were March 68-March 69.  He was also on the same C141 that landed first at U-Tapao.  Date of birth Feb. 11, 1946 died Aug. 15, 2011.  I received this info from another Ubon handler who was contacted by one of Gordon's sons.  Don't know cause of death.  I have been trying to make contact with Gordon for about nine years.  Wrote letters and called but he never answered.  He was a good guy but for some unknown reason, he did not want to reconnect with old friends.  Whenever you get the chance could you put him on our Ubon handlers list for the VDHA?
