Temporarily assigned MACV-SOG Special Forces Spike Team Idaho (Recon) at Phu Bai

Biography:

Trained with 49th IPSD at Ft. Benning Oct. - Dec., 1966.  Arrived 'Nam Jan.,1967. Attached to 199th LIB at Longh Binh. Transferred to 41st IPSD attached to 1st Brigade, 1st Inf. Div. at Phuoc Vinh in April, 1967.


Temporarily assigned to SOG 5th Special Forces "Spike Team Idaho" at FOB #1 in Phu Bai 31 Aug. to 16 Nov., 1967 running Top Secret recons into Laos and the Ho Chi Minh trail. Returned to Phouc Vinh just before the Brigade moved to Quan Loi. Transitioned King (58X3) to his new handler and rotated home for separation Dec. 19, 1967.

King (58X3) was KIA on Dec. 23, 1968.  Thanks to him, I lived on to have a lovely Wife, two beautiful Daughters, and 6 wonderful Grandchildren. I think of King every day and thank the Lord for giving us the time we had together!
