Subject: Canine Corporal Derek Dunn USMC

Hi:

This Marine War Dog of WW II, served in the Pacific, 1944 - 1945, was wounded twice and promoted to Corporal.

He belonged to my cousin, Major Frank Dunn, who served in Europe from Utah Beach to the end in Germany. The deal with the Marines was that if Derek was not killed or made crazy by the combat then the family wanted him back.

He was returned and lived a peaceful happy life until his death in 1952.

He is buried in Methuen, MA., at a pet cemetery run by the MSPCA that has honored war dogs with their own memorial - photo attached.

Thanks for your web site.
