Why Do I No longer Receive Paper Copies of the Dogman?

If you want to receive a paper copy of the Dogman, you must change your VDHA web profile.
Mailing costs are soaring through the roof, and the officers of the VDHA agreed that we needed to get better control of Dogman circulation costs and availability to members.
That is why all Dogman issues have been posted on our website. Most members no longer have the need to receive a paper copy of the Dogman, unless they do not have access to a computer.
Starting with the August 2008 issue, the option to receive a paper copy of the Dogman, in all VDHA member profiles, will automatically be reset to default to "NO", and nobody will receive future paper copies of Dogman, unless they physically change the option from "NO" to "YES". Default is "NO", and you must select "YES" to receive a paper copy of Dogman!
Several follow-up reminder notices were posted on the Home Page of the VDHA website and related articles were also published in the Dogman.
Any member who wants to receive a paper copy of the Dogman, must enter the VDHA Member Area and "Update their Personal Info" in their profile, and specifically check "YES" beside the option "Dogman Mailing List". If anyone needs assistance doing so, please contact Dave Broeker or Bob Palochik.
Anyone who knows of any member who does not have a computer to perform this update action can contact Dave or Bob to update it for them. We know of several members with no access to computers and will update their info for them. We solicit your assistance to inform us of anyone you know who should be added to this list to make sure their paper copies do not stop.
We have many profiles with incorrect or missing street addresses and e-mail addresses, and this is a good time for all of you to go in and review and update your entire profile to be sure it is accurate, so the paper copies can be mailed to you.
Remember, anyone can receive a paper copy of the Dogman! However, in order to do so, you must physically go into your profile and change the option from "NO" to "YES".
We are in no way, eliminating access to paper copies of Dogman, but are in fact eliminating the waste of paper copies being mis-sent to incorrect addresses that no longer exist, or paper copies being mailed to members who really don’t know how to stop them from being mailed.
This only needs to be done one time, and occasional follow up inspections by each of you, of your own profiles, will assure you that the option you choose stays exactly as you wish.
The VDHA feels this is a positive move in the right direction, and as a direct result, we will save money by lowering the number of paper Dogman issues that have to be printed and handled, and by reducing the postage fees incurred.
Also, we anticipate many personal profiles will get updated and we will have a more accurate database.
