Here's a fierce looking dog, Boots, and a funny looking handler, me, Sgt. Jim Stastny

I was born in Chicago and raised in the nearby suburb of Berwyn. At 18 I joined the USAF. By a series of quirky events I became a security policeman and a dog handler. I served for 18 months Kincheloe, AFB, MI, a SAC base. Then Uncle Sam sent me to Korat RTAFB, and I became a part of the fighting 388th SPS/K-9, 1970-1971. Leaving there I went to Hamilton AFB. I’m now retired.
