VDHA Membership Benefits
All VDHA members receive:
A membership card, quarterly issues of the Dogman newsletter (viewable on our website, or mailed by special request), access to our complete newsletter and article archive, a listing in the VDHA member directory, access to our directory of over 1,600 veteran dog handlers, access to our searchable dog registry, and access to our photo database.

Who Can Join
VDHA membership is open to all veterans of the Armed Services (including active duty personnel) who served in times of war, conflict, or peacekeeping missions in one of these roles: War Dog Handler, Military Working Dog Handler, Combat Tracker, Veterinarian, Veterinary Technician, War Dog Platoon Leader, or War Dog Trainer.

Veteran Dog Handler Membership (Voting)

Annual dues: $25 | Lifetime membership: $250

Disabled Veteran Dog Handler Membership (Voting)

Annual dues: $12.50 | Voting privileges included

Non-Combat Veteran Dog Handler Membership (Non-Voting)

Annual dues: $25 | Lifetime membership: $250

Associate Membership (Non-Voting)

Open to anyone (any age or gender) who loves dogs and  supports our mission.

Disability Service-Connected Dues Reduction

50% or less disability: Full annual dues ($25)
51–79% disability: Reduced annual dues ($12.50)
80% or higher disability: Free lifetime membership

Documentation required: Submit your VA Service Connected Disability rating form to verify your disability percentage. You may download your VA Benefit letter here, and add it to your application, or mail it to:

Special Veteran Status (Voting)

WWII and Korean War veteran dog handlers are entitled to free lifetime membership with voting privileges.

VDHA is a 501(c)(19)(a) tax-exempt, non-profit organization incorporated in California (IRS #33-0690480). All donations are tax deductible.
