Savage https://www.lighthousefuneral.com/obituaries/Philip-Savage/#!/TributeWall Philip M. Savage, 77, of Athens passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Phil was born December 13, 1943 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Robert J. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Proefrock) Savage. He graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1962 and Northwestern University in 1983. On June 12, 1964 he married the former Teana Teller in Battle Creek. Phil served in the U.S. Air Force and went on to work for the Pennfield Police Department, both from which he retired. When not working, Phil enjoyed hunting, playing guitar, woodworking, watching stock car racing, old movies and telling stories. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Phil is survived by his children, Stephanie Hutchinson of Waterville, ME and Sean (Trish) Savage of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Ryan Hutchinson, Taylor Hutchinson, Ericha Holmes, Alishia Fox and Mariah Ayres; 16 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Lynn (Debi) Savage, Cindy Chambers and Leoda Burge.
