In Memory of John William Collins 1947 – 2014 John William Collins Obituary Date of Birth: Friday, August 8th, 1947 Date of Death: Monday, January 27th, 2014 John William Collins passed away peacefully Monday, January 27, 2014. He was 66 years old. John was born in San Francisco, California on August 8, 1947 to John and Helen Collins. He leaves behind three brothers and three sisters, (Robert, Marilyn, Kate, Helen, Jimmy, & Gerry), and his Mother, Helen. John was raised in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Alameda High in Lakewood and from Metro State College in Denver. He enjoyed long distance running. John was an Army Dog Handler and he served his country with the 212th MP at Long Binh, South Vietnam with his faithful service dog REX. John worked for the Federal Government at the Federal Center in Denver with the Bureau of Reclamation upon returning from the Army. John had a long life and believed in serving those who were less fortunate in society. He was a tireless worker and an advocate for the Handicapped. John will he will be interned at Ft.
